DPF off

DPF delete and DPF off files

A diesel particulate filter traps soot and periodically burns it off by injecting extra fuel to raise exhaust temperature. On an off-road or motorsport engine the filter is often removed, and the calibration has to stop running a regeneration cycle for a component that is no longer in the exhaust.

For professional and motorsport use where permitted by local law. Removing or disabling emissions equipment on a vehicle used on public roads is not permitted in most countries — check the rules that apply to you before ordering.

  • DPF off applied to your own ECU read
  • Regeneration strategy and differential-pressure monitoring handled
  • Checksum-corrected and flash-ready
  • About a minute, from €49.95

What a DPF off calibration does

DPF off, DPF delete, DPF removal, FAP off on French platforms — one job under several names. The calibration stops triggering regeneration, the soot-loading model that decides when to run one is removed from the strategy, and the differential-pressure sensing that reports on a filter which is no longer there is dealt with so the unit does not sit in a permanent fault state.

Regeneration is the part worth understanding, because it explains most of the trouble people have with these filters. Burning off trapped soot needs exhaust temperature the engine does not normally produce, so the calibration injects fuel late in the cycle to make it. Interrupt that repeatedly — short trips, stop-start work, a vehicle that never reaches the conditions the strategy expects — and the cycle never completes, fuel finds its way past the rings into the oil, and the filter loads further.

Again, this is the software half of a hardware job. A calibration change on a vehicle that still has a working filter fitted describes an exhaust system other than the one attached to it.

How it works at StageGen

The change is applied to your own read. What comes back is your calibration with the modification in place and every checksum recalculated — nothing generic, and nothing that needs correcting afterwards before it will write.

  • Upload the original read from your control unit
  • Pick DPF off, plus anything else for the same file
  • Download the checksum-corrected result and flash it with your own tool

Options and combinations

On the kind of build where the filter comes out, the other emissions-equipment changes usually go with it, and one file is better than three flash cycles.

  • EGR off in the same file
  • AdBlue / SCR off where the vehicle has it
  • Stage 1 or Stage 2 calibration alongside

Which control units are covered

Particulate filters are a diesel service, so the work concentrates in the diesel control-unit families the platform covers.

  • Bosch EDC16, EDC17 (including C74 and C76)
  • Bosch MD1 family
  • Siemens/Continental SID and PCR families
  • Delphi DCM, Marelli MJD, Denso

Reading the file in the first place

Master reads open directly — .bin, .ori, .mpc and the other common formats. A slave read is encrypted and has to be unlocked first, through the crypt/decrypt service or by linking your device to our master.

  • Alientech KESS3 — decode a protected slave read first
  • Autotuner — decrypt a slave read first
  • MMS Flex — .mmf containers handled the same way

Turnaround and pricing

€49.95, typically back in under a minute, processed automatically around the clock.

If your read cannot be matched automatically, you can request manual processing rather than being left with a failed job.

Frequently asked questions

Yes — DPF off, DPF delete, DPF removal and FAP off all describe the same calibration change. Which term you meet depends on the market rather than on what happens to the file.

The calibration is the software half of the job. If a working filter is still fitted, the map no longer describes the exhaust system the engine actually has.

Yes — the change removes the strategy that triggers them, along with the soot-loading model that decides when one is due.

Yes, before you receive it. A control unit refuses a write whose checksum does not match its data, so correction is what makes the file usable at all.

Yes, and on this kind of build it is the usual combination. Pick everything on one upload and it returns as a single file.

Unlock it first, through the crypt/decrypt service or by linking your device to our master so we can work in the native container.
