EGR off and EGR delete calibrations
Exhaust gas recirculation feeds a measured amount of exhaust back into the intake to lower combustion temperature. When the system is removed from a motorsport or off-road engine, the calibration has to be told about it — otherwise the control unit keeps commanding a valve that is not there and logs faults for the answer it never gets.
For professional and motorsport use where permitted by local law. Removing or disabling emissions equipment on a vehicle used on public roads is not permitted in most countries — check the rules that apply to you before ordering.
- EGR off applied to your own ECU read
- Checksum-corrected and flash-ready
- Associated fault codes handled with it
- About a minute, from €49.95
What an EGR off calibration does
The terms in circulation all describe the same job: EGR off, EGR delete, EGR blanking, EGR bypass, EGR solenoid disable. The calibration change is the software half of it — the valve is commanded closed or its control loop is removed, the mass-airflow expectations that assumed recirculated gas are adjusted to match, and the diagnostic monitors that would otherwise report an implausible flow are dealt with so the unit does not sit in a permanent fault state.
What it does not do is make anything happen mechanically. If the hardware is still fitted and functioning, a software change alone is a calibration that no longer matches the engine in front of it. This service is for builds where the system has been removed or is being removed — it is one half of a job, not the whole of it.
Because recirculation lowers combustion temperature by design, an engine without it runs hotter in the region the strategy used to cover. That is a real consideration for a race or off-road build and it is the reason the change belongs in a calibration written for it, rather than as an isolated switch flipped in a stock map.
How it works at StageGen
You supply the read; we apply the change to your file. Nothing generic is sent back — the result is your own calibration with the modification applied and every checksum recalculated, which is what determines whether the control unit accepts the write or rejects it.
- Upload the original read from your control unit
- Pick EGR off, plus anything else you need in the same file
- Download the checksum-corrected result and flash it with your own tool
Options and combinations
EGR off is commonly ordered alongside other changes to the same file rather than on its own, and combining them in one job is both cheaper and safer than flashing three times.
- Stage 1 or Stage 2 calibration in the same file
- Other off-road emissions-equipment changes for the same build
Which control units are covered
The platform covers the control units making up the bulk of the European parc, petrol and diesel. EGR is a diesel-dominant service, so in practice the Bosch EDC and Siemens/Continental diesel families carry most of this work.
- Bosch EDC15, EDC16, EDC17 (including C74 and C76)
- Bosch MD1 and MG1 (MD1CS001 and related)
- Siemens/Continental SID, PCR and related diesel families
- Delphi DCM, Marelli MJD, Denso
Reading the file in the first place
Master reads open directly — .bin, .ori, .mpc and the other common formats. A read from a slave tool is encrypted and has to be unlocked before anything can be applied to it, either through the crypt/decrypt service or by linking your device to our master.
- Alientech KESS3 — decode a protected slave read first
- Autotuner — decrypt a slave read first
- MMS Flex — .mmf containers handled the same way
Turnaround and pricing
A file tuning job is €49.95 and typically returns in under a minute. Processing runs around the clock and is automatic, so there is no queue waiting on someone to come online.
If your read cannot be matched automatically the job does not simply fail — you can request manual processing and it is handled by hand.
